Convert EPRT to another file type
To convert EPRT parts to another format, you need eDrawings Viewer or other 3D software.
Convert a file to EPRT
To convert other file formats to the "CAD Part Viewer File" file type, you need software like eDrawings Viewer or a similar tool.
About EPRT files
An .EPRT file is a proprietary eDrawings Part file created by SolidWorks or the eDrawings Viewer. It is primarily used to share 3D CAD models securely with clients or manufacturers without giving away the original, fully editable design data.
The biggest disadvantage of the .EPRT format is its highly restricted nature. It is a 'view-only' format by design. Users often need to convert these files to STL for 3D printing, STEP for importing into alternative CAD software, or PDF for document sharing. However, creators frequently lock the file, intentionally disabling export and measuring tools to protect their intellectual property. Standard online converters fail to process .EPRT files because the format is closed, proprietary, and technically relies on internal Dassault Systèmes libraries to decode the geometry. Since some .EPRT files are built on a compressed ZIP structure, our tool can often inspect the internal contents. Emphasize that often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your EPRT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert EPRT file to STEP, STL, DWG, SLDPRT, STP, DXF, DGN, RVT, RFA, SKP, 3DM or IGES, you can use eDrawings Viewer or similar software from the "3D CAD Part Viewing" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert SLDASM, DGN, PRT, IAM, X_B, CATPRODUCT, SLDPRT, RVT, ASM, DWG, CATPART or DXF files to EPRT, try eDrawings Viewer or another comparable tool in the "3D CAD Part Viewing" category.
The EPRT Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our EPRT converter.
