Extract text from EPRT files

An .EPRT file is a compressed eDrawings Part file developed by Dassault Systèmes for sharing 3D CAD models in a lightweight, read-only format. It acts as a "digital plot," allowing engineers to email complex designs created in SolidWorks without sharing the valuable original source geometry or requiring the recipient to have expensive CAD software.
The main challenge with .EPRT files is that they are designed for visualization, not editing. They are often incompatible with standard 3D tools like Blender or AutoCAD. Users frequently need to convert them to STL for 3D printing or PDF for documentation but find themselves locked out if the original creator disabled the "Allow Export" permission. This proprietary lock-in makes it difficult to recover usable geometry for modification.
To view or convert these files, the best free solution is the eDrawings Viewer. If export permissions are enabled, you can use the viewer to convert the .EPRT to STL (for printing), HTM (for web viewing), or TIFF/JPG (for images). If you need to edit the geometry, you must request the original SLDPRT or STEP file from the author, as the .EPRT format discards the feature history required for parametric editing.
