About XSN files
The .XSN file extension is predominantly used for InfoPath Form Template files, developed by Microsoft. These files define the structural layout, specific behaviors, and internal data schema of electronic forms used in enterprise environments. Internally, an .XSN file is actually a compressed CAB (Cabinet) archive containing multiple constituent files, such as XML for the data structure, XSLT for presentation logic, and XSD for schema validation. A small 3% fraction of .XSN files operate as Pressure Mapping Sensor Data files created by XSENSOR Technology, storing tactile pressure measurement points recorded by specialized hardware. Users frequently face challenges with .XSN files because Microsoft InfoPath is now deprecated, making legacy form templates difficult to access without maintaining outdated software subscriptions. Furthermore, these proprietary archives are not supported natively by modern web browsers or mobile operating systems. When attempting to convert these files, it is highly recommended to extract the internal XML data or render the visual layout to a PDF document. For XSENSOR data, exporting the raw metrics to a CSV file is the standard workaround for spreadsheet analysis. Standard online converters often fail to process .XSN files because they lack the specific logic to handle the internal CAB archive structure or the proprietary sensor data streams. Often, only the original authoring software can properly read or export the contained data. If our analysis detects a supported embedded structure, viewing or partial conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your XSN file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert XSN file to PDF, XML, INDD, QXP, PUB, PMD, PM6, PM7, PM8, PM9, PM10 or PM11, you can use Microsoft InfoPath or similar software from the "Form Template Data Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MDI, PUB, PDP, PM4, P65, COMIC, WEBTEMPLATE, PMD, SPUB, INDD, PM5 or QXP files to XSN, try Microsoft InfoPath or another comparable tool in the "Form Template Data Storage" category.
The XSN Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our XSN converter.
