About HTML files
The .HTML (HyperText Markup Language) file format is the standard web page source code used for displaying documents in a web browser. Developed and maintained by the W3C and WHATWG, these files contain text content wrapped in markup tags that dictate page structure. Additionally, many online services, including Snapchat and Google, use .HTML files to export personal data archives as offline, clickable interfaces. However, sharing a standalone .HTML file is highly problematic in the real world. The format is rarely self-contained; it relies on external CSS stylesheets, JavaScript files, and image assets to render correctly. If you open an .HTML file on a local machine without these accompanying assets, the layout breaks entirely, resulting in unstyled, difficult-to-read text. Furthermore, email providers frequently block or flag .HTML attachments as security risks due to their potential to harbor malicious scripts. For archiving or sharing a reliable visual snapshot, convert the file to PDF/A. To extract pure text without stripping away messy code tags manually, convert the file to TXT. If you need to edit the text and layout without writing code, convert to DOCX for use in Microsoft Word. Drag and drop your file to analyze and convert it - free, online, and without installing software.
