About VPC files

The .VPC file extension serves multiple distinct technical roles. It most frequently acts as a presentation content package for VideoPsalm, a popular worship software. In the geospatial and surveying industries, it functions as a Virtual Point Cloud project file for Leica Geosystems Cyclone software. Additionally, software developers encounter .VPC files as Valve Project Creator scripts used within the Source Engine, or as startup network scripts for the Virtual PC Simulator (VPCS) in GNS3. To open or edit these files, users typically need the exact native software. VideoPsalm files are processed by VideoPsalm or ProPresenter. Leica point clouds require Cyclone REGISTER 360. Valve scripts require the VPC tool to generate Visual Studio project files. Users frequently try to convert .VPC files because the native software is highly specialized, expensive, or completely unavailable on standard operating systems. Leica point cloud projects, for instance, are proprietary and useless without a costly CAD/GIS license. VideoPsalm files lock lyrics and background media inside a specific ecosystem, making it hard to share slides with users who only have Microsoft PowerPoint. For target formats, VideoPsalm .VPC files should be extracted to standard media formats like JPG, MP4, or TXT, as the file is structurally a standard ZIP archive. Developer scripts for Valve or VPCS can be easily converted to TXT or CFG without losing data. Leica point cloud files are much harder to convert and often must be exported directly from Cyclone to universal 3D formats like PTS, E57, or LAS. Because many .VPC variants are closed, proprietary, or highly specialized, standard online converters usually fail to process them. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the complex 3D data or internal media structures. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, such as the standard ZIP compression used by VideoPsalm or the plain text used in developer scripts, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your VPC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted BAK, VCF, JSON, ZIP, SAV, TORRENT, PROBUNDLE, PRO4 and RCP files.

The VPC Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our VPC converter.
