About TORRENT files

A .TORRENT file is a small metadata container used by the BitTorrent protocol to coordinate the peer-to-peer (P2P) distribution of large datasets. Unlike standard downloads, this file does not contain the actual media or software; instead, it stores essential "metainfo" such as the target file names, folder structure, SHA-1 integrity hashes, and the URLs of trackers that manage the swarm of uploaders and downloaders.

Because .TORRENT files are encoded using Bencoding (a binary-text format), they are not human-readable in standard text editors and require a dedicated client like qBittorrent or Transmission to initiate the actual download. Users frequently need to convert these files into Magnet Links (magnet:?xt=...) to share the download source easily via chat or text without sending a physical file. Advanced users or developers may convert .TORRENT files to JSON or XML to inspect the internal dictionary structure, verify tracker lists, or analyze file hashes without launching a P2P client.

Convert.Guru analyzes your TORRENT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted TOR, PDF, ZIP, MAGNET, MKV, MP4, TXT, TORRENT 2, JPG, P2P, RAR, CRDOWNLOAD and EPUB files.
