Extract text from Resource and source files (L)

The .l file extension is most commonly associated with either an ActivInspire Resource Pack or a Lexical Analyzer Source file. In educational environments, Promethean ActivInspire uses .l files to distribute compressed interactive whiteboard resources, such as images, templates, and interactive lessons. For software developers, .l files contain source code used by the Lex or Flex scanner generators to output C source code for lexical analyzers.
These formats come with distinct real-world disadvantages. As an educational resource pack, the .l format is proprietary and acts like a closed archive. If you are dealing with an educational resource pack, extracting or converting it to ZIP is the best workaround to access the underlying images, sounds, and media assets. If it is a Lex file, it is best viewed as TXT or compiled directly to C.
