Extract text from PVM files

A .pvm file typically falls into one of two very different categories, creating significant confusion for users. Most commonly, it is an OSTA MusicPhotoVideo Manifest created by legacy software like HP Photosmart Essential. In this context, the file is essentially an XML playlist that indexes photos and videos on a disc or camera; it does not contain the actual images. Users often mistakenly try to convert this file to JPG or MP4, only to find it is just a text file containing file paths. The solution is to open the file in a text editor to locate the actual media files, or convert the manifest to TXT or PDF for archival purposes.
Alternatively, on macOS, a .pvm file is a Parallels Virtual Machine bundle used by Parallels Desktop. These are often massive files (tens of gigabytes) containing a virtual hard drive and configuration settings. Users frequently need to convert these to OVF or OVA formats to migrate their virtual machine to VMware Fusion or Oracle VirtualBox. Less frequently, this extension refers to a Dynojet Power Commander fuel map used for tuning motorcycle engines, which users may wish to convert to CSV for data analysis in spreadsheet software.
