About PMC files

The .pmc extension represents a collision of two completely different worlds: 3D game modding and desktop automation.

Most frequently (approx. 35%), a .pmc file is a Prism3D Collision Model used by SCS Software titles like Euro Truck Simulator 2. These binary files define the physical boundaries of in-game objects so trucks don't drive through walls. The main limitation here is that they are compiled, proprietary assets. You cannot simply double-click to view them; you must use the SCS Blender Tools add-on to import the raw data into Blender for editing. From there, modders typically export to OBJ or FBX if they need to move the geometry to other software.

Alternatively (approx. 21%), your file is a Pulover's Macro Creator project. These are automation scripts saved by Pulover's Macro Creator. Users often need to convert these .pmc projects into standalone AHK (AutoHotkey) scripts or compiled EXE files so they can run the automation on computers that don't have the creator software installed. Unlike the 3D files, these are often essentially text-based or structured data that define keystrokes and mouse movements.

Less commonly, .pmc files serve as configuration filters for Microsoft Process Monitor (Sysinternals), allowing sysadmins to save complex event filtering rules. These are strictly for internal program use, though the resulting log data is usually converted to CSV or XML for analysis.

Convert.Guru analyzes your PMC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted PMC_CFG, PDF, HTML, PNG, PMD, MHT, ZIP, JPG, CTC and STP files.

The PMC Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PMC converter.
