About OUT files
A .OUT file is typically an Output File generated by software applications, or a compiled executable file in Unix-like operating systems. The specific format depends entirely on the program that created it. Most often, developers encounter .OUT files as the default compiled binary (such as a.out or ELF) from the GNU Compiler Collection (GCC). However, it is a highly fragmented format. It can act as a plain text server log file generated by Apache Tomcat, an Indian Customs EDI data file, a compiled Lua simulation script, or even a compressed firmware update package for Fortinet hardware. The primary disadvantage of a .OUT file is its ambiguity. Your operating system does not know what software to use to open it, so double-clicking usually results in an error. This generic file extension hides the true nature of the data. For example, an .OUT file generated by Oracle Reports Services is actually a standard document that requires a PDF reader, but the incorrect file extension prevents it from opening. To resolve this, you need to identify the underlying file signature. Drop your file here to analyze and convert it securely right in your browser. If your file is a text log, convert it to TXT for easy reading or CSV for spreadsheet editing. If the file is an Oracle report, convert it to PDF for printing and archiving. For compressed Fortinet firmwares, target GZ or ZIP formats for extraction.
Convert.Guru analyzes your OUT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert OUT file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use GNU Compiler Collection or similar software from the "Program Output or Compiled Executable" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to OUT, try GNU Compiler Collection or another comparable tool in the "Program Output or Compiled Executable" category.
The OUT Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our OUT converter.
