Convert EZD to another file type
To convert EZD designs to another format, you need EZCAD or other Cad software.
Convert a file to EZD
To convert other file formats to the "Laser Marking Design" file type, you need software like EZCAD or a similar tool.
About EZD files
The .EZD file extension is most commonly associated with EZCAD2, a widely used laser marking and engraving software developed by Beijing JCZ Technology. These files store 2D vector layouts, hatching parameters, text objects, and specific laser settings (like speed, frequency, and power) required to drive fiber, CO2, and UV laser machines. A smaller subset of .EZD files are used by Nanosurf easyScan software to store Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) scientific data.
The main disadvantage of the .EZD format is its highly proprietary, closed-source nature. To view or edit a native EZCAD file offline, you typically need the exact version of the software it was created in. Furthermore, EZCAD often requires a physical JCZ control board or USB dongle to operate fully; without it, the software restricts itself to a limited 'demo mode'. This makes sharing designs with clients or opening them in standard vector editors like Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape impossible without prior export.
To bypass these annoying hardware limits and software lock-ins, conversion is necessary. For editing in traditional CAD or vector software, convert .EZD to DXF or SVG. For client approval, quoting, and web viewing, convert to PDF, PNG, or WebP. If you are handling Nanosurf AFM data, extracting it to CSV is best for analysis. Just drag and drop your file here to analyze and convert it - free, online, and without installing software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your EZD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert EZD file to DXF, PDF, CDR, PLT, SVG, STEP, DWG, AI, DGN, RVT, RFA or SKP, you can use EZCAD or similar software from the "Laser Marking Design Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert SLDASM, DGN, PRT, IAM, X_B, CATPRODUCT, SLDPRT, RVT, ASM, DWG, CATPART or DXF files to EZD, try EZCAD or another comparable tool in the "Laser Marking Design Storage" category.
The EZD Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our EZD converter.
