Convert FPL to another file type

Convert a file to FPL
To convert other file formats to the "Playlist / Route File" file type, you need software like foobar2000 or a similar tool.
About FPL files
The .FPL file extension primarily represents a foobar2000 Playlist File used by the foobar2000 audio player, or an Aviation Flight Plan utilized by Garmin navigation systems. It can also function as a Floor Plan Creator user library or table data for the Future Pinball simulator.
The main disadvantage of the .FPL format is its extreme fragmentation and lack of cross-platform support. Foobar2000 playlists use a proprietary binary structure, meaning you cannot open them in standard text editors or media players like VLC. Users are locked into the foobar2000 ecosystem. Conversely, Garmin flight plans are XML-based, but their strict aviation routing schemas confuse generic mapping software.
To share audio playlists with other devices, you should convert the .FPL file to universal formats like M3U or PLS, though custom foobar2000 metadata may be lost. For Garmin flight routes, converting the XML to GPX or KML ensures compatibility with Google Earth and standard GPS units.
Because many .FPL files are proprietary binary formats, standard online converters often fail to process them. Emphasize that often only the original software can properly read or export the data. However, just drag and drop your file into convert.guru to identify the exact format, inspect the file's hex code, and view any plaintext XML strings. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format like XML or zlib, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your FPL file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert FPL file to FMS, PLN, M3U, MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC, OGG, WMA, M4A, AIFF or OPUS, you can use foobar2000 or similar software from the "Audio Playlist or Flight Plan" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MIDI, AAC, TTA, AU, WV, DTS, MID, FLAC, RA, MP3, PCM or WAV files to FPL, try foobar2000 or another comparable tool in the "Audio Playlist or Flight Plan" category.
The FPL Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FPL converter.
