The .FPC file extension is a proprietary project file created by Floor Plan Creator or Floorplanner. It contains 2D and 3D floor plan layouts, structural dimensions, and furniture asset placements used by interior designers and real estate professionals. A secondary, legacy use for the .FPC extension is the FreePCB Printed Circuit Board Layout file developed by Allan Wright.
Because .FPC files are closed-ecosystem project files, they suffer from strict vendor lock-in. They are essentially useless to anyone who does not have the specific floor planning software installed. Clients cannot view them, and you cannot directly embed them into a standard web page or presentation. Furthermore, sharing the raw project file risks accidental modification of your measurements or design layouts.
To share your floor plans securely, you must export or convert the .FPC file. For client review and printing, convert to PDF. For web galleries or real estate listings, convert to raster images like JPG, PNG, or WebP.
