The .FPC file is a proprietary project format. Users primarily generate these files using Floorplanner or the Floor Plan Creator mobile application. These files contain detailed architectural data, including 2D floor layouts, 3D object placements, interior design measurements, and texture references.
Because .FPC is a closed format, it presents significant sharing challenges. You cannot open an .FPC file natively on Windows, macOS, or standard web browsers without installing the original software. If a contractor, builder, or client receives this file, they will hit a wall unless they also have an account with the specific floor plan service. Furthermore, the format locks your data into a single vendor ecosystem, making it difficult to migrate your work to standard architecture tools.
To fix these issues and make your designs accessible, you must convert the .FPC file. For universal sharing, printing, and archiving, convert to PDF. For quick web viewing or email attachments, convert to a raster image like JPG or PNG. For high-quality vector editing in Adobe Illustrator, convert to SVG. If you need to migrate your design to professional CAD software like AutoCAD, you must convert it to DXF or DWG.
