About CF files

The .CF file extension is a highly fragmented format, primarily used as a Configuration File or a ColdFusion Template. Depending on the parent system, it stores settings for the KiriKiri Game Engine, 1C:Enterprise business software, Bintec routers, or acts as a routing config for the classic Sendmail mail transfer agent. It is also historically recognized as a template file for Adobe ColdFusion, containing server-side scripts. Additionally, it stores mission scenarios for Command: Modern Operations (as a compressed ZIP) and CFD mesh data for Ansys CFX. Because .CF is an umbrella extension used by dozens of unrelated applications, opening an unknown .CF file is a frustrating guessing game. Most are plain text, but some are encrypted (like SendBlaster licenses) or binary (like Ansys meshes). Without the parent application, these files are practically useless and cannot be processed natively by modern web browsers. To read or share the contents of a text-based .CF file, you should convert it. For quick editing or web use, convert to TXT or HTML. For archiving configuration states, convert to PDF.

Convert.Guru analyzes your CF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted XP3, NCF, XML, PNG, GSF, DF, 4, CY, CCF, SF, MCF and HCF files.

The CF Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our CF converter.
