About CCF files
The .CCF file extension is most famously known as a Philips Pronto universal remote control configuration file. These files store infrared (IR) codes, interface layouts, and macro configurations used to program home theater setups. You can view or edit them using legacy tools like ProntoEdit. However, .CCF is a highly fragmented extension shared across many unrelated industries. It is also used for Mozilla Firefox compressed browser cache data, Videojet industrial printer data (which relies on a ZIP structure), Anritsu calibration coefficients (which use XML), Autodesk FeatureCAM CNC controller files, and even Italian tax documents handled by the Agenzia delle Entrate. The primary disadvantage of a .CCF file is this extreme fragmentation. You cannot open a .CCF file without knowing exactly which software created it. Furthermore, legacy hardware files like the Philips Pronto configs are practically obsolete, requiring outdated 32-bit software to parse. Government .CCF files are proprietary and restricted to specific portal standards. This causes massive friction for users trying to extract simple text or data. Our tool detects the internal file signature instantly. If your .CCF is an XML or ZIP archive under the hood, you can extract the raw data directly. For legacy text-based configurations, convert to TXT or CSV to read the contents in any standard text editor.
