About RCC files
The .rcc file extension serves multiple distinct purposes, most commonly representing an Italian tax document receipt generated by systems connected to the Agenzia delle Entrate. These files act as cryptographic proof of electronic invoicing or tax filing submissions. Alternatively, .rcc acts as a Qt Resource Collection file created by The Qt Company's resource compiler. In this context, it is a compiled binary often based on a ZIP structure containing embedded application assets like images and UI definitions. Less frequently, it is a ReCap Compressed Structured Scan Data file used by Autodesk ReCap or Leica Cyclone 3DR for reality capture projects. The main disadvantage of .rcc files is their highly specialized, proprietary nature. Italian tax receipts require specific government software like Desktop Telematico or Entratel to authenticate and read. They are not natively supported by standard web browsers or document viewers, creating a bottleneck for users who simply need to view their tax confirmation. Qt resource binaries face similar issues; they are compiled assets designed to be loaded by an application at runtime, not edited by users. ReCap scan files can exceed several gigabytes, making them difficult to share and requiring expensive CAD subscriptions to open. For tax receipts, the ideal conversion target is .PDF, ensuring universal readability and easy archiving. Qt resource files are best extracted to their original formats like .PNG, .QML, or .XML, or packaged into a standard .ZIP archive. 3D scan data is typically exported to .RCP, .RCS, or .E57 within the original authoring software. Converting these files is challenging because standard online tools lack the specific decoders for Italian tax encryption or Qt's binary structure. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

The RCC Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our RCC converter.
