About CCD files
The .ccd extension serves two distinct, proprietary purposes that require different conversion approaches. Primarily, it acts as a vector drawing file created by CS Odessa ConceptDraw DIAGRAM (formerly ConceptDraw PRO). These files contain intricate business flowcharts, network diagrams, and floor plans. The main limitation is their lack of interoperability; a .ccd file cannot be opened in Microsoft Visio or viewed natively in web browsers. To share these visual assets with clients or colleagues who lack the software, converting them to PDF (for printing/review) or SVG (for web integration) is essential.
Alternatively, a .ccd file is frequently a CloneCD Control File, a legacy format used by CloneCD to define the layout of a compact disc. In this context, the file is a small ASCII text file that maps logical data tracks. A common point of failure for users is attempting to mount or convert a .ccd file in isolation; it functions only when paired with its companion IMG (main data) and SUB (subchannel) files. For modern archival or emulation use (e.g., in DOSBox), the best practice is to convert the .ccd set into a standard ISO or .CUE/.BIN image, which eliminates the need for specific mounting software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your CCD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert CCD file to ISO, CHD, CUE, PDF, BIN, IMG, DMG, VHD, VMDK, VDI, HDD or QCOW, you can use ConceptDraw DIAGRAM or similar software from the "Vector Diagram & Disc Image" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert VFD, DMG, OVA, IMA, VBOX, ADF, PVS, VHD, OVF, ISO, DSK or IMG files to CCD, try ConceptDraw DIAGRAM or another comparable tool in the "Vector Diagram & Disc Image" category.
The CCD Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our CCD converter.
