About CDD files
The .cdd file extension primarily belongs to two completely different formats: CD Autorun Menu projects created by CD Autorun Creator, and CANdela Diagnostic data files used by Vector Informatik CANdelaStudio. Autorun projects hold the settings, graphical assets, and executables required to automatically launch menus when a CD or DVD is inserted into a PC. CANdela files are technical engineering files that store Electronic Control Unit (ECU) diagnostic data for the automotive industry. A smaller percentage of .cdd files are diagram documents created by CS Odessa ConceptDraw. Users often want to convert these files to extract the underlying data or share diagrams without requiring proprietary software. However, the .CDD format poses major challenges. CANdela files require expensive commercial licenses, while CD Autorun is a deprecated standard that modern operating systems block for security reasons. ConceptDraw documents lock your vector data inside a closed ecosystem. Ideally, users want to convert CANdela data to XML or CSV for database ingestion, or export ConceptDraw diagrams to PDF or SVG. Unfortunately, standard converters cannot process these files because they lack the specific proprietary rendering engines required to interpret the data.
