About YDK files
A .ydk file is primarily known as a Yu-Gi-Oh! Deck file, generated by popular duel simulators like YGOPro, EDOPro, and YGO Omega. These files act as lightweight configuration scripts containing a list of card passcodes (IDs) organized into sections: Main, Extra, and Side decks.
The biggest obstacle for users is that .ydk files do not contain card images, names, or effects - only numeric IDs (e.g., 89631139). Without the simulator's database to interpret these IDs, the file appears as a meaningless list of numbers when opened in a standard text editor. Users often need to convert these files to share readable deck lists on forums, print them for tournaments, or migrate decks between different simulator platforms.
For quick access to the raw data, converting or renaming the file to TXT is the most practical solution, allowing you to view and edit the card IDs directly. For developers or data archivists, converting to JSON or XML can help structure the deck data for external apps. However, to convert a .ydk into a visual representation (like a JPG or PDF of the cards), the file must usually be loaded back into YGOPro to render the graphics before exporting.
Convert.Guru analyzes your YDK file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert YDK file to TEXT, TXT, EXE, ISO, BIN, CUE, PAK, WAD, PK3, PK4, BSP or MAP, you can use YGOPro or similar software from the "Yu-Gi-Oh! Deck Configuration" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MOD, BIN, CFG, SCX, DAT, MPQ, LOG, CUE, INI, EXE, SCM or ISO files to YDK, try YGOPro or another comparable tool in the "Yu-Gi-Oh! Deck Configuration" category.
The YDK Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our YDK converter.
