About YDC files

The .YDC file format is a dedicated deck storage container used by various digital adaptations of the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. It is most notably associated with the classic Power of Chaos PC game series (such as Joey the Passion) and certain iterations of the YGOPro simulator engine. Internally, these files function as a database of card identifiers, reconstructing a player's customized deck when loaded by the game client.

While .YDC files are essential for gameplay within their specific software, they present significant hurdles for modern players. The format is often proprietary or binary-encoded, meaning it cannot be opened in text editors to view card names. Furthermore, the modern standard for Yu-Gi-Oh! simulators (like EDOPro or YGOOmega) has shifted to the YDK extension. This creates a "lock-in" effect where legacy decks from older games are inaccessible in current software. To bridge this gap, users typically need to convert .YDC files to YDK for cross-simulator compatibility. For sharing decklists on forums or archiving strategies, converting to TXT or CSV provides a human-readable list of card names, removing the need for the original game engine.

Convert.Guru analyzes your YDC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted YDK, ICA, EHI and PCG files.
