About YDC files

A .YDC file is a specialized deck list used primarily by Yu-Gi-Oh! video games and community-built simulators. It stores a player's curated selection of monster, spell, and trap cards, typically split into the Main Deck, Extra Deck, and Side Deck. Rather than holding image data or text names, these files contain lists of numerical card IDs that correspond to an external card database within the game.

Players encounter .YDC files when using legacy software like Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of Chaos, early versions of YGOPro, or official Konami titles like Legacy of the Duelist. Managing these files is notoriously frustrating because the format is strictly proprietary. If a specific game version updates its internal database, or if a player attempts to migrate from an older game to a newer simulator, the .YDC file often breaks or fails to load entirely.

To share decklists online or migrate to modern competitive simulators (like EDOPro or YGOOmega), players need to convert .YDC to YDK (the current standard for YGOPro clones), XML, or plain TXT. However, standard online file converters are useless here because they lack the specific card ID database required to translate the raw binary or custom formatted data into readable text. While automated structural conversion is blocked by the proprietary nature of the file, our engine can inspect the internal data. We will analyze the raw bytes, extract visible string arrays, and help you salvage your decklist data if the underlying format permits.

Convert.Guru analyzes your YDC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted YDK, ICA, EHI and PCG files.
