A .xmcd file is a worksheet created by PTC Mathcad, a popular engineering mathematics software. It uses an XML data structure to store complex mathematical formulas, 2D and 3D plots, text annotations, and variables within a single document.
Native viewing and editing require a paid license for PTC Mathcad. While you can technically read the raw file using standard text editors like Notepad++, the mathematical equations and graphs are written in a dense markup language that is impossible for humans to visualize without the rendering engine.
