About WTD files

A .WTD file is primarily a Grand Theft Auto texture dictionary used by the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE) for titles like GTA: San Andreas and GTA IV. It stores critical game visual assets, including textures, interface graphics, and 3D model skins. Less commonly, this extension is used as a WebStorage Thermo Data file by T&D Corporation loggers or a Warrior Tool Diagram file. The main disadvantage of the .WTD format is its strictly proprietary nature. It is a closed, undocumented archive that standard operating systems and typical image viewers cannot open. Files are also strictly bound by the memory and resolution limits of the game engine itself. Users generally need to convert these files to extract the inner textures into standard formats like PNG, JPG, or DDS for modding, editing, or archiving. Normal online converters will fail to process .WTD files because they lack the specific RAGE engine decompression algorithms. Often, only community-built modding software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying format, viewing or partial conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your WTD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted WFT, WDR, WTB, PNG, RAR, ZIP, DDS, YTD, 7Z, CDW, JPG, INP and ODD files.
