About WTB files

A .wtb file is a proprietary binary log file generated by Win-Test, a specialized software designed for amateur radio (ham radio) contest logging. It securely stores contact records, known as QSOs, including frequencies, callsigns, modes, and timestamps in a compact, networked structure.

Because it is a compiled binary format, the .wtb file is highly restrictive. You cannot open it in standard text editors or spreadsheet software. It locks your contest data inside the Win-Test ecosystem, which creates a major disadvantage when you need to submit your logs to contest organizers or upload them to universal databases like Logbook of The World (LoTW). Organizers universally reject binary formats.

To share or submit your contacts, you must convert this file into widely accepted text-based ham radio formats, such as ADI (ADIF) for general logbooks or CBR (Cabrillo) for contest submissions. Conversion to a simple CSV file is also common for data backup.

This file format is difficult to open or convert online because only the original Win-Test engine perfectly interprets the custom binary structure. Standard converters fail because they lack the specific parsing logic. If our analysis detects a supported underlying format, partial conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your WTB file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
