About VPR files
A .vpr file is most frequently a project file created by Yamaha VOCALOID5 or newer, a premier singing voice synthesis platform. Unlike standard audio files, a VPR file does not contain actual sound waves; instead, it functions as a set of instructions - storing melodies, lyrics, velocity, and specific voicebank parameters (like breathiness or growl). This means you cannot open a VPR file in VLC Media Player, iTunes, or on your smartphone. To share the song, users must render the project to WAV or MP3 through the Vocaloid editor. Another significant source of VPR files is ViSoft Premium, a 3D visualization tool used for bathroom and tile planning. These CAD-like project files are locked to the ViSoft ecosystem, making them impossible to view without an expensive license. For client reviews or archiving, these designs are best converted to standard PDF documents or high-resolution JPG images. Less common variations include report definitions for SoftVelocity Clarion (Vellum Page Report) or vertical alignment data for Bentley rail software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your VPR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted VSQX, FLAC, MP3, VSQ, SVP, TORRENT, EXE, DDI, FLP and WFP files.
The VPR Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our VPR converter.
