The .TB file extension is heavily fragmented, serving as a project, preset, or asset container for a wide variety of specialized applications. The most common uses include Robot task builder projects managed by Omron ACE or the OnRobot Teach Pendant, tabular project files for the Tabular App, and asset packages for the Tabby Cat manager. Additionally, .TB files are used as color grading presets for Infinite Tools and toolbar layouts for Rhinoceros 3D. This fragmentation means a generic .TB file lacks a universal standard. They are proprietary formats designed to lock user data into niche software ecosystems or require specific, often expensive, licenses to open.
However, there is a technical workaround. Structurally, many .TB files are simply renamed ZIP, GZIP, or XML archives. While this is a disaster for generic online converters - which fail to recognize the format and simply throw errors based on the extension - it is a major advantage for manual data extraction. The best target formats depend on the origin: XML or JSON for presets, and extracted contents like PNG or standard text for zipped asset packages.
