About TB files
The .TB file extension is a classic example of a "namespace collision," where multiple discrete software ecosystems utilize the same shorthand for their project files. Most frequently, a .TB file is a Robot Task Builder project associated with industrial automation platforms like Omron ACE or OnRobot Teach Pendant tools. These files encapsulate robotic logic, coordinate waypoints, and instruction sets. The main drawback here is proprietary lock-in: these binary files often require expensive, licensed engineering software to open, making it impossible for project managers or clients to view the workflow logic without a conversion tool or a PDF export.
Alternatively, your file might be a Tabular project file (occasionally associated with legacy or specific Tableau data workflows), used to store structured datasets. Unlike standard TWB (Tableau Workbook) files, these .TB variants often fail to open in modern data viewers, leaving users with inaccessible insights. Other common uses include Rhinoceros 3D toolbar configurations (saving custom UI layouts) and Infinite Tools color grading presets, which are often just renamed XML files.
For conversion, the strategy depends entirely on the file's internal structure. If it is an XML-based preset or project file, it can easily be converted to JSON, TXT, or CSV for editing in standard text editors. For GZIP-compressed asset packages (used by some asset managers), the file can be extracted to access individual resources. For proprietary robot tasks, the best archiving target is usually PDF (for documentation) or a text-based dump of the logic if the software supports it.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TB file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted TBWF, TIF, CDW, CY, QZTP, SAM, GB, MB, TIB, PB, BYTES, GIB and KB files.
The TB Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TB converter.
