The .lsf file format serves multiple entirely different industries, making it notoriously frustrating to handle. Primarily, it is a Larian Studios File, acting as a highly compressed binary game data resource for RPG titles like Baldur's Gate 3. Alternatively, it is used as an Oscilloscope Waveform Data File generated by Teledyne LeCroy equipment, or as a massive 3D scene container for the architectural rendering software Lumion.
Because these formats share the exact same extension, opening them is a headache. The Larian game files are strictly proprietary and require community-built unpackers like LSLib to decode. Oscilloscope files cannot be natively graphed in standard spreadsheet applications, locking your engineering data behind proprietary viewers. Lumion scenes are massive (often gigabytes in size), require extremely powerful GPUs, and restrict you to their specific rendering ecosystem.
