About LIX files
The .LIX file extension is most frequently associated with the Libronix Digital Library System, the underlying engine for older versions of Logos Bible Software. These files function as search indices that catalogue the contents of corresponding LBX (Libronix Book) files. A major difficulty for users is that a .LIX file does not contain the actual text of the book or commentary; it is merely a structural map used by the software to locate data. Consequently, you cannot simply double-click to read it, nor can you convert it directly to PDF or DOCX to retrieve the book's content without the accompanying proprietary book files and the legacy Libronix DLS application.
In industrial contexts, a .LIX file may alternatively be a compressed firmware package for IKUSI remote control systems (specifically the Felix software). These are often just renamed ZIP archives. If you encounter a .LIX file outside of a religious software context, try renaming the extension to ZIP to inspect its contents. For Logos users holding legacy files, the best path is upgrading to the modern Logos Bible Software, which can sometimes import or index legacy libraries, or using the original software to export the content to TXT or RTF.
Convert.Guru analyzes your LIX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted LSF, LBXLLS, LBXSDG, LBXALV and NUMBERS files.

The LIX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LIX converter.
