To convert other file formats to the "Proprietary Data Document" file type, you need software like Janome Artistic Digitizer or a similar tool.
About JBX files
The .JBX file extension primarily refers to a JBI Job B.I.A.S. Job Description document or a Janome embroidery machine design file. It is also historically associated with Borland JBuilder as a JavaBean Express information file, and rarely as a Microsoft Play It! music file.
Because this extension is shared across completely unrelated industries (Human Resources, textile manufacturing, and software development), it causes severe software conflicts. If you double-click a .JBX file without the specific authoring software installed, your operating system will fail to open it.
For the HR documents created by JBI Job B.I.A.S., the format is entirely proprietary. You cannot open it natively in Microsoft Word or web browsers. This makes sharing job descriptions with external recruiters or candidates impossible unless they also pay for the specific HR software.
For the embroidery designs, the files contain vector-like stitching coordinates strictly calibrated for Janome sewing machines. These are invisible to standard image viewers. If you switch your production to a Brother or Tajima machine, the proprietary lock-in renders your designs useless.
To fix these issues, conversion is mandatory. Drop your file here to view and convert it securely right in your browser. For HR documents, convert to PDF or DOCX to guarantee readability on any device. For embroidery files, convert to PES or DST for universal machine compatibility, or extract the preview to JPG for quick web viewing.
Convert.Guru analyzes your JBX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The JBX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our JBX converter.
