About FPP files

The .FPP extension usually represents a FlashPrint Project file created by FlashForge 3D printing software. These files are proprietary containers that store your 3D models, slicing settings, and custom support structures in a paused state. The Problem: Because .FPP files are specific to the FlashPrint ecosystem, they cannot be opened by popular slicers like UltiMaker Cura or PrusaSlicer, nor can they be read directly by non-FlashForge 3D printers. This proprietary lock-in makes sharing projects difficult. The Solution: To print on other machines or edit the mesh, you must convert the .FPP file to a universal format. Use FlashPrint to export the geometry as STL or OBJ for editing, or slice it to G or GX for printing.

Secondary Use Case: In scientific computing, .FPP files may be Fortran Source Code files that require preprocessing. These are plain text files readable by any code editor like VS Code.

Convert.Guru analyzes your FPP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted GX, STL, X3G, ZIP, FFP, GCODE, JSON, PDF, F3D, DXF, GLB, ANYDESK and SLDPRT files.

The FPP Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FPP converter.
