About FFP files
.FFP files serve multiple distinct roles in the digital landscape. The most common use is as FabFilter Plugin Presets for professional audio engineering software, such as FabFilter Pro-Q 3. A significant secondary use is as FLAC Audio Fingerprints, generated by utilities like Trader's Little Helper to verify the integrity of lossless audio files using checksums. Finally, it is also used as a project file for EFI Fiery FreeForm Plus variable data printing.
The primary disadvantage of the .FFP extension is format collision. Operating systems cannot distinguish between a plain-text audio fingerprint, a proprietary binary audio preset, and a compressed printing archive, leading to frustrating "cannot open file" errors. Furthermore, when used as audio presets, these files are strictly proprietary. They contain mathematical parameters for specific equalizers or synthesizers, not actual audio data. You cannot convert an .FFP preset directly to WAV or MP3 because there is no audio to convert. The data only has meaning inside the original FabFilter plugin.
Because .FFP files can be text, binary, or archives, standard online converters usually fail. If our analysis detects an underlying ZIP format (used by EFI Fiery files), we can extract its contents. If it is a text-based FLAC fingerprint, we can display the checksums or convert it to TXT. If it is a proprietary FabFilter preset, we can inspect the binary data to confirm its origin, even if direct conversion to competing plugin formats is mathematically impossible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your FFP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The FFP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FFP converter.
