About ANYDESK files
An .anydesk file is a proprietary remote desktop session recording created by the AnyDesk software. Rather than capturing traditional video frames, it logs the data stream of screen changes, mouse movements, and keystrokes exchanged during a remote support session. This format is highly restrictive and frustrating for end users. It is entirely proprietary and completely closed. You cannot open an .anydesk file in standard media players like VLC media player or standard web browsers. It requires the user to install the exact AnyDesk client version used to create the recording. This vendor lock-in prevents easy sharing, archiving, or auditing of support sessions without the proprietary tool installed. To make these recordings universally accessible, users must convert them to standard video formats like MP4, AVI, or MKV. Converting to MP4 ensures playback on any device, though the file size will increase significantly because standard video uses full pixel frames instead of data deltas. Because this file format is difficult to open or convert, standard online converters usually fail to process it. Often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ANYDESK file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The ANYDESK Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ANYDESK converter.
