The .ebf extension typically designates an Educosoft E-Class Session file, a format used by the Educosoft Learning Management System to store recorded lectures and whiteboard data. These files act as containers (often internally ZIP archives) holding multimedia assets like audio, video, and slide images. Users frequently struggle with .ebf files because they are proprietary to the Educosoft ecosystem and cannot be played by standard media players like VLC or Windows Media Player.
Another common use of the .ebf extension is the Encrypted Backup File generated by Sophos UTM (Unified Threat Management) firewalls. Unlike standard backups, these are locked with a user-defined password and cannot be opened or parsed by text editors or database tools.
