About EBP files
An .EBP file is a highly fragmented format. It primarily functions as an Express Burn Project file created by NCH Software to organize audio, video, and data files for CD/DVD burning. However, it is also widely used as an EarthBound ROM Patch by the ROM hacking community, an electrical building plan by SEE Electrical, a business database shortcut by EBP Open Line, or a sports playbook by eCoach. Because the .EBP extension is used by so many unrelated applications, managing these files is a massive headache for users. If you are dealing with an Express Burn project, the main disadvantage is that the file contains no actual media - only XML-based text pointing to files on your hard drive. This means you cannot play an .EBP file or share it with someone who lacks the original source files. Proprietary formats like these lock your data into a specific software ecosystem, forcing you to rely on legacy Windows applications or paid licenses to access your own work. Standard online converters fail entirely with .EBP files because they are not standard documents or images.
