About SBF files
The .SBF file extension is heavily fragmented. It is used by entirely different software applications for specific, proprietary purposes. The most common modern use is as a backup archive for Sleek Bill invoicing software. In this context, the file holds a compressed snapshot of financial databases. Other widespread uses include synthesizer soundbanks for Reveal Sound Spire, GNSS receiver data from Septentrio, and obsolete mobile backups created by Sprite Mobile.
Because these files are highly specialized, they carry significant disadvantages. You cannot open them directly with standard operating system tools. They are proprietary, undocumented, and generally useless outside their native application environment. For example, a Spire soundbank cannot be opened in a competing synthesizer without complex, dedicated translation tools. A Septentrio data file requires specialized engineering software to interpret the binary telemetry.
Standard online converters fail to process .SBF files because they lack a unified standard. You cannot simply "convert" a GNSS data log into a standard document format or a synthesizer preset into an audio file using basic conversion scripts. The internal structures are locked and proprietary. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. However, some .SBF files are actually standard formats in disguise. For instance, Sleek Bill backups are often just standard ZIP archives containing XML or database files. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or extracting the data may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your SBF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert SBF file to DB, SQLITE, SQLITE3, MDB, ACCDB, DBF, ODB, FDB, GDB, MYD, FRM or SQL, you can use Sleek Bill or similar software from the "Application Backup Archive" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert NDF, SQLITE3, BAK, RDB, SQL, DB4, MDF, MDB, LDF, DB, DB3 or SQLITE files to SBF, try Sleek Bill or another comparable tool in the "Application Backup Archive" category.
The SBF Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our SBF converter.
