A .CTB file typically refers to an AutoCAD Color-Dependent Plot Style Table, used extensively in architectural and engineering workflows to map on-screen colors to specific printing properties like lineweight, dithering, and end styles. While industry-standard for decades, this format binds visual design to output settings - forcing users to change an object's color just to alter its printed thickness, which can be restrictive compared to the newer, object-based STB format. Users often need to convert .CTB to STB to decouple color from plotting behavior, or print these configurations to PDF for documentation.
The extension is also widely used by CHITUBOX as a sliced format for resin 3D printers. These files contain rasterized layer data rather than editable 3D geometry.
