Extract text from ChiTuBox sliced models (CBDDLP)
To convert CBDDLP sliced models to another format, you need ChituBox or other 3D software.
To convert other file formats to the "Sliced 3D Printer File" file type, you need software like ChituBox or a similar tool.
The .CBDDLP file format is a proprietary sliced output generated by ChituBox Slicer Software. It is explicitly designed for resin-based (SLA/DLP/LCD) 3D printers. Unlike standard 3D formats, it does not store geometric meshes. Instead, it contains thousands of high-resolution 2D pixel layers alongside machine-specific print settings like UV exposure times and lift speeds.
This format has severe disadvantages for archiving or sharing. It is a closed, compiled file locked to specific printer hardware. Files are massive, frequently exceeding 100MB, and completely lack the original 3D structure. You cannot open a .CBDDLP file in standard CAD software. Furthermore, editing supports or modifying the model is impossible because the data is permanently "baked" into flat 2D images.
Users often attempt to convert .CBDDLP files back to STL or OBJ formats to recover the 3D model. However, this process requires complex voxel-to-mesh reconstruction, resulting in a heavily degraded, jagged model. A more realistic conversion target is extracting the internal sliced layers to standard PNG image sequences or packaging them into a ZIP archive for inspection.
This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert because the original vector data is destroyed during the slicing process. Often only the original software or specialized layer inspectors like UVtools can properly read the data. If our analysis detects supported underlying image layers, viewing or partial conversion may still be possible.
