About CSF files

The .CSF file extension is highly fragmented and serves multiple unrelated purposes depending on the software that created it. Most commonly, it is an Adobe Color Settings File used by applications like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to synchronize color management profiles (RGB, CMYK) across the Adobe Creative Suite. However, .CSF also represents the Content Sealed Format (Secure Content Format) originally developed by Informative Graphics and now managed by OpenText. This document format is heavily encrypted and DRM-locked for secure corporate sharing. In the PC gaming world, Westwood Studios used .CSF as a game string table file for Command & Conquer, while other uses range from Creaform 3D scan data to ESRI ArcGIS coordinate system definitions.

This extreme fragmentation makes .CSF files frustrating to handle. An Adobe color setting is useless outside of the Adobe ecosystem, requiring a paid subscription just to apply the profile to an image. Secure Content Format files are intentionally locked down to prevent unauthorized viewing, meaning you often cannot print or edit them without specialized, outdated viewers like Brava! Reader. Depending on the actual file type, you should convert it to a more universal format. For secure documents, target PDF for archiving or JPG for web sharing if DRM restrictions allow. For game string tables, convert to TXT or XML for easy modding and editing. For GIS or 3D scan data, exporting to CSV or OBJ ensures long-term accessibility outside of proprietary, vendor-locked software.

Convert.Guru analyzes your CSF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted CSV, CFS, VCF, XLSX, XCF, GR2, ZIP, CFG, TXT, UDF, JPG, PDF and XAPK files.
