Extract text from PaintShop Pro images (CPM)

To convert other file formats to the "Multi-format Image and Data" file type, you need software like Corel PaintShop Pro or a similar tool.
A .CPM file can represent four completely different file formats: a proprietary Corel PaintShop Pro image, a Cadence Component Model for Cadence Allegro PCB Editor, an SAP Financial Consolidation data package, or a ChordPro song lyrics file. This severe extension fragmentation makes it highly confusing to handle.
The biggest disadvantage of .CPM files is their proprietary lock-in. PaintShop Pro images and Cadence CAD models are closed binary formats. You cannot open them natively in Windows, macOS, or standard web browsers. Sharing a Cadence component model with a client who does not have an expensive CAD subscription creates an immediate roadblock. Furthermore, standard online converters often fail with .CPM files because they rely on the extension to guess the format, leading to frequent crashes when they misidentify a CAD model as an image.
If your file is a PaintShop Pro image, you should convert it to JPG or PNG for web compatibility. ChordPro files can be easily converted to PDF or TXT. Cadence files, however, are highly restricted and usually require the original software to export to universal formats like STEP or DXF.
