Extract text from Reality Lab 3D images (XOF)

The .XOF file is an obsolete 3D graphics format originally developed for the Reality Lab engine by RenderMorphics in the mid-1990s. This format was used to store 3D geometry, textures, and rendering data for early PC and console games. Microsoft acquired RenderMorphics in 1995, using their technology as the foundation for Direct3D.
The main disadvantage of the .XOF format is that it is a dead, highly proprietary file type. Modern 3D software like Blender or Autodesk Maya cannot open it natively. The data is effectively trapped in a format that requires a 30-year-old operating system environment and the original SDK to render correctly. To make use of these 3D models today, users need to convert .XOF files to modern, standardized targets like OBJ, FBX, or GLTF. During conversion, raw geometry might survive, but legacy shading and material data are almost always lost.
Because .XOF is a closed, proprietary format from a defunct engine, standard online converters completely fail to process it. Often only the original software can properly read or export the data.
