Extract text from WAB files

WAB files serve as the contact database for legacy Microsoft email clients, specifically Outlook Express and older versions of Windows Mail. These files store names, email addresses, phone numbers, and physical addresses in a proprietary binary format tailored for the Windows 98, 2000, and XP eras.
The main challenge with .WAB files today is accessibility. Since Microsoft discontinued Outlook Express, modern operating systems like Windows 10 and 11 lack the native native tools to open these files effortlessly. You cannot simply open a .WAB file in a text editor like Notepad because the data is encoded; doing so results in unreadable gibberish. Furthermore, importing these directly into modern Microsoft Outlook (New Outlook) or web-based services like Gmail is often impossible without conversion, as the format has been superseded by PST and universal web standards.
