To convert other file formats to the "Scientific Data & Spreadsheets" file type, you need software like VisiDAQ or a similar tool.

About VTS files

A .vts file usually contains scientific or engineering data. The most common variant is a VisiDAQ data acquisition file generated by educational and engineering equipment from TecQuipment Ltd. Another popular variant is the VTK structured grid data file used by The Visualization Toolkit (VTK) and ParaView to store 3D grid parameters in a readable XML structure. You might also encounter .vts files as spreadsheet data from the ComponentAce V-Spreadsheet component, SCADA application files from Tri-hedral Engineering VTScada, or Visual Theme Style archives.

The main disadvantage of the .vts format is extreme fragmentation. Because the same file extension is shared across at least six entirely different software systems, users constantly face "unsupported format" errors. For example, VisiDAQ files use a proprietary Microsoft Compound container that generic readers cannot parse, locking your experimental data inside a specialized hardware ecosystem. ComponentAce spreadsheets similarly trap data away from standard tools like Microsoft Excel.

To make this data useful, users need to convert .vts to open formats. VTK grids should be converted to CSV or standard XML for broader scientific analysis. Spreadsheet variants are best exported to XLSX or CSV to allow data manipulation without specific Delphi/C++ developer components.

Because many .vts files use closed, proprietary formats, they are notoriously difficult to open or convert. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - like standard XML for a VTK grid or a ZIP archive for a Felgo theme - viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your VTS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted VOB, IFO, BUP, MP4, AVI, VTT, XSPF, ZIP, VRM, SLDPRT, JPG, LNK and TSX files.

The VTS Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our VTS converter.
