Convert UXD to another file type
To convert UXD diffraction files to another format, you need Bruker DIFFRACplus or other Data software.
Convert a file to UXD
To convert other file formats to the "Scientific Measurement Data" file type, you need software like Bruker DIFFRACplus or a similar tool.
About UXD files
The .UXD file stores X-ray diffraction (XRD) data. These files contain the precise angle (2-theta) and intensity values measured by diffractometers during crystallographic analysis and materials characterization.
Typically, .UXD files are generated by Bruker AXS instruments, such as the D8 Advance, using DIFFRACplus software. They are also sometimes associated with older Philips or PANalytical X'Pert systems. Scientists and researchers plot and analyze this data using advanced tools like OriginPro.
The main disadvantage of the .UXD format is its proprietary nature. It is a highly specialized instrument output. You cannot simply open these files on a standard computer without expensive, licensed analytical software. If a lab technician sends you a .UXD file, you are essentially locked out of the numerical data unless you have the right crystallographic suite installed.
To make the data usable, the best conversion targets are plain text formats like CSV, TXT, or XY (two-column angle and intensity data). Converting to these formats allows you to easily import the measurements into Excel, Python, MATLAB, or other generic plotting software, though some specific instrument metadata might be lost in the process.
Because .UXD is a closed, proprietary format, standard online converters fail to process it.
Convert.Guru analyzes your UXD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert UXD file to SVG, AI, EPS, PDF, JPG, CDR, WMF, EMF, SWF, FLA, XFL or SKETCH, you can use Bruker DIFFRACplus or similar software from the "X-ray Diffraction Data Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert AFPUB, EPS, FIG, VSD, SKETCH, VDX, AFPHOTO, PDF, AFDESIGN, SVG, VSDX or AI files to UXD, try Bruker DIFFRACplus or another comparable tool in the "X-ray Diffraction Data Storage" category.
The UXD Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our UXD converter.
