About TCP files

A .TCP file is primarily a Tally Compiled Program file. Developers write custom scripts using TDL (Tally Definition Language) and compile them into a .TCP file to deploy as add-ons in Tally ERP 9 or TallyPrime. This format allows businesses to add custom accounting reports, invoice formats, or automated workflows. A smaller percentage of .TCP files are TurboCAD part libraries managed by IMSI Design, or visual novel script files for the CatSystem2 game engine. The main disadvantage of the .TCP format is its proprietary and closed nature. Because Tally compiles and encrypts the underlying TDL source code, you cannot simply open a .TCP file in a text editor to view or edit the script. It is locked to protect the developer's intellectual property. This makes it impossible for standard online converters to reverse-engineer or convert a .TCP file into a readable text format. If you need to modify the add-on, you must have the original TDL source file. Similarly, TurboCAD libraries require an active installation of TurboCAD to access the 3D parts inside. Because this is a closed, proprietary format, standard conversion tools fail. Often only the original software can properly read or export the data. Our tool inspects the internal file structure to confirm if it is a Tally add-on, a CAD library, or a visual novel script, and shows you any readable metadata or text. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your TCP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted TDL, TXT, JPG, JPEG, PDF, TCS, 1800, ZIP, PNG, ASPX, 900, DAT and BIN files.

The TCP Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TCP converter.
