About TBL files
A .tbl file is a generic data container used to store tabular information, configuration parameters, or even 3D models across vastly different software ecosystems. Because "TBL" simply stands for "Table," dozens of applications use this extension for entirely unrelated purposes. Common uses include electrical engineering data in Lab-Volt LVDAC-EMS, benchmark databases like TPC-H used with Teradata SQL Assistant, and 3D models for Minecraft created by the Tabula Mod (which are actually renamed ZIP archives). Game developers also frequently use .tbl files to store core game logic, item stats, and localization text. Titles like NCSoft Lineage II, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and StarCraft rely heavily on these files.
The massive fragmentation of the .tbl extension makes it incredibly frustrating to handle. A .tbl file from a benchmark database cannot be read by a game engine. Furthermore, many of these files are compiled or encrypted (like in Lineage II), making them completely unreadable in standard text editors. Users often hit a wall trying to open a file when they do not know its origin software. Without the exact parent application, a binary .tbl file appears as useless gibberish.
To make the data usable, you must match the file to its correct parser. For text-based or database tables, convert to CSV or JSON to view the data in Microsoft Excel or standard web browsers. For Minecraft Tabula files, you need to extract the contents as a standard archive. We will identify the internal file signature and provide the best extraction or conversion options.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TBL file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert TBL file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use Various Applications & Games or similar software from the "Structured Tabular Data Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to TBL, try Various Applications & Games or another comparable tool in the "Structured Tabular Data Storage" category.
The TBL Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TBL converter.
