About SRD files
The .SRD file extension is primarily associated with Digital SIA Standard Documents used in the Swiss construction industry by the SIA-Normen-Reader. Under the hood, these are often standard ZIP archives containing structured building specification data. Additionally, .SRD is heavily utilized as a PowerBuilder DataWindow Source File by Appeon PowerBuilder to store user interface layouts and database reporting query definitions, often saved in UTF-8 or UTF-16 LE text. Other common uses include Sage Report Data files in Sage 50 Accounts, Microsoft App-V state repository databases, and various video game resource formats. The primary disadvantage of the .SRD format is extreme fragmentation. You cannot easily open an SIA construction standard file in a standard text editor, while a PowerBuilder file is completely unreadable in Sage. Opening them natively requires expensive, specialized enterprise software subscriptions. If your goal is sharing financial or database reports, convert your Sage or PowerBuilder .SRD exports to PDF for reliable archiving or CSV for spreadsheet analysis. For SIA standards, extracting the underlying ZIP structure allows you to access raw XML or text components.
Convert.Guru analyzes your SRD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert SRD file to TTD, US, CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF or DAT, you can use SIA-Normen-Reader or similar software from the "Standard Document & Report Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

The SRD Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our SRD converter.
