About SPD files
The .SPD file format is primarily associated with Samsung S Note, acting as a digital notebook file. Internally, these files are essentially ZIP archives containing text, vector strokes, images, and metadata generated by older Samsung Galaxy Note devices. Other systems also use the .SPD extension, including Roland SPD-SX sampling pads for backup data, UVWin spectroscopy software for scan data, SILKYPIX Developer Studio for image parameters, and FVD Speed Dial for browser backups. Because Samsung replaced S Note with Samsung Notes, legacy .SPD files are notorious for being proprietary and difficult to open on modern PCs or non-Samsung smartphones. Without the native app, users cannot view the drawings or notes directly, leaving their personal data locked in a dead ecosystem. To restore access, conversion is mandatory. For document archiving and sharing, convert .SPD to PDF. If you only need the raw text, target TXT. For web use or viewing isolated sketches, converting the internal assets to JPG or PNG is highly recommended. Just drag and drop your file here to view and convert it securely right in your browser with convert.guru.
Convert.Guru analyzes your SPD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The SPD Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our SPD converter.
