To convert other file formats to the "EDA Schematic Document" file type, you need software like Altium Designer or a similar tool.
About SCHDOC files
A .schdoc file is an electronic circuit schematic created primarily by Altium Designer, a leading Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software suite. It stores the logical connections (netlists), components, and wiring diagrams for printed circuit board (PCB) design. Under the hood, these files use a proprietary Microsoft Compound Document format structure.
The biggest drawback of the .schdoc format is its proprietary nature. Opening one natively requires an expensive Altium subscription, which creates massive bottlenecks when sharing designs with clients, mechanical engineers, or purchasing departments who do not own the software. Furthermore, .schdoc files cannot be viewed in web browsers or standard document viewers.
To overcome these limitations, you must convert the file to standard formats. For universal sharing and archiving, convert to PDF. If you need to import the schematic geometry into mechanical CAD software like AutoCAD or SolidWorks, convert to DXF or DWG. For quick web viewing, use PNG or WebP.
Convert.Guru analyzes your SCHDOC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert SCHDOC file to PDF or SCH, you can use Altium Designer or similar software from the "Electronic Circuit Schematic Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

The SCHDOC Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our SCHDOC converter.
