About SCDOC files

The .SCDOC file is the native proprietary format used by Ansys SpaceClaim, a leading 3D direct modeling CAD application. These files store complete 3D design data, including solid geometry, surface models, assemblies, and drawing annotations.

The Problem: Because .SCDOC is a closed, proprietary format, it is a common headache for collaboration. You cannot open these files in standard CAD programs like SolidWorks or AutoCAD without an expensive license to export them first. Furthermore, they are not viewable in web browsers or operating system previews, making them a "black box" for clients or manufacturing partners who don't own the specific software.

The Solution: To make the design usable, you typically need to convert it based on your end goal:

Convert.Guru analyzes your SCDOC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted SCDOCX, DSCO, WBPJ, AGDB, SDOC, STEP, RSDOCX, STP, SDOCX, DXF, DWG, ZIP and SAB files.

The SCDOC Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our SCDOC converter.
