Convert a file to REPX
To convert other file formats to the "Report Layout Template" file type, you need software like DevExpress XtraReports or a similar tool.
About REPX files
A .REPX file is a proprietary report layout document primarily utilized by DevExpress XtraReports. It functions as a structural template, storing visual controls, data binding configurations, and styling parameters in a UTF-8 text format (frequently structured as XML). A secondary use case exists within FLIR Tools, which employs a ZIP-compressed variation of the format to define layouts for thermal imaging reports. The core disadvantage of the .REPX format is its absolute dependency on specific developer environments. It does not contain actual data; it is merely a blueprint. Without the original database and the DevExpress rendering engine, the final output cannot be viewed. This makes sharing raw .REPX files with clients or non-technical staff entirely impractical. To make the contents accessible, conversion is mandatory. For archiving or sharing the fixed layout, the report must be rendered and exported to PDF. For web presentation, convert the output to HTML. If you only need to inspect or edit the raw template structure without heavy developer tools, you can convert the file to XML or plain TXT.
Convert.Guru analyzes your REPX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert REPX file to PDF, CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT or DB, you can use DevExpress XtraReports or similar software from the "Report Layout Definition" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to REPX, try DevExpress XtraReports or another comparable tool in the "Report Layout Definition" category.
The REPX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our REPX converter.
