The .PTX extension is a "chameleon" format that serves three distinct, high-value industries: audio engineering, legal services, and photography. Most commonly, it is a session file created by Avid Pro Tools (version 10 and later). These files function as project roadmaps - they contain MIDI data, mixer settings, automation, and plugin configurations, but not the actual audio waveforms (which are stored separately).
