To convert other file formats to the "3D Model Source" file type, you need software like OpenIV or a similar tool.

About ODR files

The .odr extension usually indicates one of two distinct game-related formats, each requiring a specific workflow to convert.

1. Grand Theft Auto V OpenFormats Resource (Most Common)

If you are modding Grand Theft Auto V, this file is an OpenIV text-based representation of a drawable dictionary (YDR). Modders use this intermediate format to edit model properties (like shaders, skeletons, and collision data) in a text editor before compiling it back into the binary game format.

The Problem: You cannot open an .ODR file directly in standard 3D software like Blender or Autodesk Maya. It is a proprietary "Open Format" definition, not a standard mesh.

The Solution:

2. osu!droid Replay File

If you play the mobile rhythm game osu!droid, this file contains your replay data (score, timing, taps).

The Problem: This is not a video file. It is a small data file that instructs the game engine how to re-enact your gameplay. You cannot upload an .ODR file directly to YouTube or play it in VLC Media Player.

The Solution: To convert an .ODR to MP4 or AVI, you must use a replay renderer (like osu!droid replay analyzer or screen-record the playback within the app) to capture the visual output.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ODR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted YDR, ODD, BOUND, YDD, DDS, PDF, ODS, XML, OBJ, MESH, CDR, YTD and JPG files.

The ODR Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ODR converter.
